About the event
Drive to Space [prog jamband] is excited to bring you a night of jams that tickle your souls and your earholes. ----- Live at 255 Madison, at, you guessed it, 255 Madison! Saturday, August 26th, 2023
Ages 21+ ----------------- BIO; Drive to Space: Drive to Space is a keyboard-driven band that combines prog rock, funk, reggae, Americana, bluegrass, and more into their version of a jamband, dubbed Organ Funktronic Piano-cana. Drive to Space is led by Steph Kay, who has spent time performing nationwide with St. Louis based Widespread Panic tribute Mom's Kitchen, SummerCamp VIP Tent alums Easy Riders, Grateful Dead tribute Another Dead Cover Band, Chicago-based Spread, as well as Eugene's own Left On Wilson and Blue Lotus. While commanding a Hammond xk3c organ, a Moog analog synth, and an 88-key Roland RD800, Steph reaches with every finger and toe to manipulate your earholes and get you moving. Featuring Dan "Waniel" Wonsover on guitar! Wan was the bassist for Chicago-based Zmick for many years. Here in Eugene, you may know him as the drummer for Connecterine, and the bassist from Simple. A man of many hats! Steph and Dan met on the Midwest jamband scene and have been sharing stages for over a decade, in multiple states! The rhythm section stars John Raden (Candy Apple Bleu, Hyper Sloth) on drums, and Terry Travis (Hyper Sloth) on bass guitar, John and Terry been performing together for over 30 years and are the best of friends. These musicians come together to create and vibrate with an intent to feel good and shake. www.drivetospace.com
